UKRC 2008Welcome to the UK Imaging Informatics Group

This forum is open to all healthcare imaging professionals radiologists, radiographers, health informatics professionals, project managers, physicists, imaging industry employees etc. interested in PACS, teleradiology and other related IT & imaging developments. This group was formerly constituted as the UK RCR Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) and Teleradiology special interest group until November 2010.

The group was originally established under the auspices of the Royal College of Radiologists to:
  • Monitor the state of development of PACS and teleradiology in the UK and its relationship to the electronic patient record
  • Encourage members in the development of PACS within their institutions
  • Share information about PACS and teleradiology as it develops worldwide, to ensure that its development in the UK is as effective as possible
  • Set up a means of communication of these developments
To achieve these aims, the group has formed links with other professional, government and industry collaborative organisations sharing the same objectives. The group monitors developments in this field and shares this information with members through group meetings and the website user forum. We also provide support for members in the development of PACS within their institutions by collating information on related documents, links, events and services, and by enabling members to advertise job vacancies. The member database provides search and contact facilities for members to obtain and share information with colleagues using the same equipment and systems.

These facilities are provided free of charge to group members thanks to the support of our sponsors. Further information about the group and how to register can be found using the menus above. Tools to search the site and user forum are provided on the left menu bar.
