Controlling Radiation Risks in Diagnostic Radiology
Tuesday 24 November 2009

Venue: The British Institute of Radiology, 36 Portland Place, London, W1B 1AT

A scientific meeting organised by the BIR’s Radiation Protection Committee on behalf of the British Institute of Radiology.

Diagnostic Radiology departments spend a large amount of time and effort on compliance with
radiation protection legislation and guidance. The aim is to control radiation risks to staff and patients. But what are the risks? How do we control them? How do they compare with other risks in hospitals? How effective is current legislation? This meeting will address these questions, put
the radiation risks from Diagnostic Radiology into perspective and examine the effectiveness of legislation in reducing risks.

This meeting would be of interest to:
Clinical Scientists, Radiographers, Radiologists and all those involved in the field of Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine.
