Good to see industry recognising the need for storing consistently and using national common identifiers like NHS no, CHI no and H&C no--for IT transactions!

It is clear from the document that from that DICOM and HL7 standards allows DICOM and other databases to store and communicate multiple identifiers. So we are NOT limited to one or the other!!

Consistent storage of NHS, CHI and H&C numbers in DICOM databases is key to Sharing of images and reports via Vendor Neutral Index and DICOM Federated query! Appendix C --Pages 25 and 26
